A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2012, at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. The family will greet friends and family one hour prior to the service time. Burial will be at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island.
Memorials may be made to the Davenport Elks Club.
Evelyn was born in 1924 in Davenport, the daughter of Frank and Elsie Hayek. She married Edward M. Bachelder on June 7, 1947, in Davenport. He died January 3, 1993.
She was employed by Bell Telephone Company, Davenport, and later was the manager of the Saddle Club Barn Restaurant in Mt. Joy, Iowa, for numerous years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport, and the Davenport Elks Club.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Suzan and Patrick Feeney, of The Villages, Fla., and Charlene and Randy Hendrickson of Davenport; daughter-in-law, Christine Bachelder of Davenport; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Hayek of Latrobe, Pa.
She was preceded in death by a son, Craig.
