Fred McKee Lyon,of Melissa, passed away Sunday at his residence.
He had lived in the Nederland/Port Arthur area for seventy one years before moving to Melissa seven years ago.
He was a retired mechanic from the Nederland I.S.D. serving the last twenty years as the supervisor over maintenance. He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Emil McKee Lyon and Betty William Bone Lyon and his wife of forty eight years, Patricia Jean Ackerman Lyon.
He was survived by his sons, James M. Lyon and wife Carolyn, Fred P. Lyon and wife Debbie, Daniel T. Lyon and wife Gloria; daughters, Kathleen E. Carter and husband Ed, Candice S. Gainey and husband John, Debra G. Thurston and husband Eugene; brothers, John B. Lyon and wife Pat, James M. Lyon and wife Lou; twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
