Kathryn J. Kretsinger
The private family graveside service for Mrs. William D. Kretsinger, 74, 802 S. Commercial St., will be Wednesday in the Patio Garden of Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Mrs. Kretsinger died Dec. 22, 1995, at Newman Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions to the Lyon County Historical Society or the Emporia Friends of the Zoo be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kretsinger owned and operated Kretsinger's Antiques for 45 years.
Kathryn Jane Brockhouse, the daughter of H.G. and Jane S. Laws Brockhouse, was born July 11, 1921, at Emporia. She graduated from Emporia High School and attended the College of Emporia and Kansas State Teachers College.
She married William D. Kretsinger on Nov. 28, 1946, at Emporia.
Mrs. Kretsinger was a member of the First Congregational Church. She also was a member of the Mid-America Antique Appraisers' Association and a former member of the Emporia Social Service Club.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Dr. [living] Kretsinger and [living] Kretsinger of [withheld]; a brother, John P. Brockhouse of Emporia; and four grandchildren, [living], [living], [living] and [living] Kretsinger of [withheld].
