HURRICANE - Omer Lee Beckett, 66, of Hurricane, formerly of Monroe, N.C., died Dec. 11, 1997, in Union Regional Medical Center, Monroe, after an apparent heart attack.
He was a retired mechanic and welder, a member of New Life Apostolic Church, Monroe, and an Army veteran.
Surviving: wife, Doris Faye Sowards Beckett; son, Loval Terry of St. Albans; half sister, Emalene Sowards of Ona; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane, with Pastor Lloyd Lawson Whitson Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane.
