Most of her tenants had been born in the mid-1800's and had wandered into New Mexico in the 1880's in search for gold and silver. One of Ada's tenants was her uncle Charles Herbert Lyons. After her uncle died in 1948, Ada continued her cowboy retirement home until 1959 when her last cowboy tenant died. At the ripe old age of 86, Ada closed her cowboy retirement home and moved to live near her daughters Veda and Bertha.
Ada died in California at the age of 96.
