Bill (Billy) Adams, age 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, February 29th at his residence. He was the son of the late Charlie Adams and Katherine Abernathy Adams of Robbinsville. He was preceded in death by his sister Sue Adams Phillips and his brother Gerald Adams.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Dottie Brooks Adams; son Joe Adams and wife Barbie of Robbinsville, NC; daughter Joyce Sherrill and husband Shannon of Webster, FL; his brother Buddy Adams and wife Cathern, his sister Kathy McKeldrey and sister-in-law Donna Adams. He has one granddaughter, Caitlan Adams, three grandsons, Cade Adams and wife Cassidy; and Josh and Jacob Holloway.
He was a deacon of Lone Oak Baptist Church, ordained on June 23, 1996 as well as a very active member that loved his church. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Lone Oak Baptist Church in memory of Bill.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Lone Oak Baptist Church. The Reverends Scott Roper and Kevin Brooks will officiate. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the Church, prior to the service.
