Maurine was born in the Township of Dovre, Barron County, Wisconsin to Isaac A. & Effie May (Smith) Hewitt.
Maurine was a school teacher & taught school in Sand Creek for many years and at the Hunt School south of Chetek, Wisconsin.
She & her husband lived in the Chetek & Cameron area before moving to Tacoma to be near their son Charles & family.
She is survived by her son Charles & wife Lana, Tacoma WA.; 6 grandsons, all in the Tacoma area; her brother-in-law Clarence Czerwonka & wife Rose of Eau Claire; several nieces & nephews & cousins in the Chetek, Cameron & Eau Claire area.
Maurine was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; mother & father Effie & Isaac Hewitt; sister Violet Eclman.
