GUYTON - Richard B. Murphy, 70,
died Monday at Effingham County Hospital
after a short illness.
He was born in Effingham County and
was retired from Southern Railroad as a
section foreman. He was a U.S. Army
veteran of World War II.
Surviving are four sisters, Florence
Davis of Bloomingdale, Annette Altman
of Guyton, Leona Ham of Richmond Hill
and Linda Ham of Daisy; four brothers,
Carlton Murphy of Sylacauga, Ala.,
Vance W. and Pat Murphy, both of Guy-
ton, and Jim Murphy of Savannah; an
uncle; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Wednesday at Thomas
C. Strickland Funeral Home, Springfield
Chapel, burial in Guyton Cemetery.
Remembrances: American Heart Association.
