Death of Venerable Citizen

Mr. George W. Dent, one of the oldest and most respected citizens of the town, passed to his reward on last Friday. He was born in Weakley county about 73 years ago and spent the greater part of his life in the country. He was an honest, upright, christian, gentleman. He had been sick for several months, but bore it with such patience and fortitude. . He was a strict member of the U. S. A. Church, of which he was a great stay. He married Miss Burns, of McKenzie, and to this union was born three children: Jim, now of Jackson ; Portor, of El Paso, Texas; and Mrs. Kate Biles, of this place. A good citizen, husband and father is gone. His body was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery Saturday with services by Rev. Robinson, his pastor.
