Mrs. Rebecca Whitaker Humes, 83, of 121 Plant St., died Friday afternoon at her home following an lengthily illness.
Born in Pulaski County July 27, 1878, the daughter of the late William Riley Whitaker and Jenney Underwood Whitaker, and preceded in death by her husband Charley Humes, she is survived by one son, Gilbert D. Bratton, Pulaski; one daughter, Mrs. Josie Bratton King, Pulaski; one brother, K.H. Whitaker, Middlesboro, Ky.; one sister, Mrs. Charles Stoots, Eccles, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held today at 2 pm from Thomas M. Seagle and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Albert S. Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Oglesby Cemetery.
The body will remain at the funeral home.
