Willie Rupe Bratton, 83, of 709 Fifth St., SE, was dead on arrival Monday afternoon at Pulaski Community Hospital.

Born in Wythe County on Oct. 3, 1895, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Rupe and Martha Jane Lawson and the widow of Jessie James Bratton.

Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Virginia Dehart, Mrs. Lillian Clark, Mrs. Estelle Wright, Mrs. Colleen Lucion and Mrs. Jean Crowder, all of Pulaski, Mrs. Florence Waller of Greensboro, N.C., and Mrs. Martha Eads of Woodbridge and one brother, James Rupe of Pulaski.

Also seven sons, Buford Bratton and Luther Bratton, both of Pulaski, Guy Bratton, Malcolm Bratton and Robert Bratton, all of Christians burg. James Bratton of Richmond and Roy Bratton of Churchville, and 61 grandchildren, 103 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

The funeral will be Wednesday at l p.m. from the First Church of the Brethern with the Rev. Mark W. Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in the Ogletby Cemetery in Wythe County. Visiting will be today at Stevens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from ,7-9 p.m.
