Mr. Robert C. Erb, 67, of 2407 Linn St., Williamsport, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009 at the Williamsport Hospital and Medical Center.
Robert had been employed by the former Williamsport Plant of Bethlehem Steel and had also been employed by Williamsport Wire Rope. He had 34 years of service, at the time of his retirement.
Mr. Erb had been a member of the United Steel Workers of America, District 10, Local # 4907. Robert was a member of the BPOE (Elks) Lodge # 1057 at Jersey Shore and AARP.
Robert was interested in the lives and the events going on with his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and vegetable gardening. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees baseball team.
Born Oct. 19, 1942 at Williamsport, he was the son of the late Arthur and Martha Criswell Erb.
He and his wife, the former Sandra E. "Sandy" Corey, were united in marriage on Oct. 18, 1974. Together they shared 35 years of marriage.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Sandra E. Erb at home; are his daughter, Mitzi A (Charles E.) Davis of Williamsport; his three sons, William J. (Pamela J.) Reifsnyder of South Williamsport, Kevin E. Reifsnyder of Youngstown, Ohio, and John H. (Mary) Reifsnyder of Williamsport; his three sisters, Bette (Raymond) Pickering of Jacksonville, Fla., Helen Fuoco and Patricia Erb, both of Williamsport; his five brothers, James (Sue) Erb of Maryland, Arthur Erb, Jr. of Williamsport, Malcom Erb of Montoursville, Warren (Janie) Erb of Middletown, and Nevin (Peg) Erb of Stroudsburg; his six grandchildren and his two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his late parents, he was also preceded in death by his late sister, Beverly Howlett and his late brother, Dale Erb.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009 at the Charles M. Noll Funeral Home, 1 East Central Ave., South Williamsport. Rev. R. Samuel James, Sr., Co Pastor of the Church of Jesus Christ of Williamsport, will officiate. Interment will follow at Church Hill Cemetery, Kelly Township, Union County, Pa.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Noll Funeral Home.
The family will provide the flowers and respectfully declines to receive floral tributes.
