He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, Wathena, the Phoenix I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 41, Wathena, and the Teamsters Union (retired).
Surviving are his wife, Luetta Abbett, of the home, a son, Al Abbett, Platte City, Mo., and a brother, William Abbett, Wathena.
