Edwin E. "Butch Meier, 52, St. Joseph, died Sunday, May 17. 1998, at a hospital in Liberty, MO.
Mr. Meier was a pressman for 27 years at Mead Products, St. Joseph, and was most recently a pressman for Richardson Printing, Kansas City. He was a Missouri U.S.S.S.A. director of the year in 1997, president of Bluff Woods Sports Complex, St. Joseph, and was state director for Northwest Missouri.
Born May 9, 1946, in St. Charles, MO, He had lived in St. Joseph since 1974. He was of Pentecostal faith.
On June 27, 1964, he married Linda Tracy in St. Joseph. She survives the home.
Mr. Meier was preceded in death by his father, Eugene E.
Surviving: two daughters, Jamie Bachman and Kathy Kelly, both of St. Joseph; his mother Pearle Belle, St. Joseph; two brothers, John, Troy, KS, and Michael Edwardsville, MO; two sisters, Linda Wilkerson and Teresa Lopez, both of St. Joseph, and four grandchildren.
Service: 10:30 am Wednesday, Rupp Funeral Home Chapel, St. Joseph. Burial: Mount Auburn Cemetery, St. Joseph. Family visitation 7-9 pm tonight and Tuesday night at the funeral home.
