Mrs. Edward (Violet I.) Tupa, 77, of Faribault died Friday evening, June 9, 2000, at District One Hospital, Faribault.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Faribault, with the Rev. Kevin Finnegan officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Faribault. Visitation is scheduled for 1-3 p.m. today at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, and in the church Monday for one hour prior to the service. Parish prayers will be recited at 3 p.m. today in the funeral home.
Violet I., daughter of Alvin and Annette Stoos Eastman, was born July 19, 1922 in Richland Township, rural Rice County. She attend school in Kenyon and Faribault. On Sept. 25, 1941, she married Edward H. Tupa in Faribault and her preceded her in death on June 29, 1989. She was formerly employed by St. Lucas Care Center and later by the Faribault Regional Center for 25 years.
She is survived by six children, Ronald (and Gretchen) Tupa of Mesa, Ariz., Donald Tupa of Faribault, Kathryn Roloff of Faribault, Patricia Thompson of Faribault, Suzanne Malecha (and fiance Dennis Greeley) of Faribault, and Michael (and Alma) Tupa of Morristown; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Daisy Sharp; and two brothers, Vernon and Dell Eastman.
