Mary G. Burke, 92, of New Berlin, formerly of Farmersville, died at 7:25 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2012, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Mrs. Burke was born November 11, 1919 in Edinburg, the daughter of Harry and Verle (Hendricks) Bible. She married Bernard Burke on January 30, 1937. He preceded her in death on February 10, 1975. Mrs. Burke was a member of Central Baptist Church in New Berlin.

Surviving are one son, Charles “Butch” Burke of New Berlin; six grandchildren, Lisa (husband, David) Jacobs of Jerseyville, Kevin (wife, Irina) Burke of Dunbarton, New Hampshire, Karen (husband, Dr. William) Zamboni of Henderson, Nevada, Amy (husband, Christopher) Lee of Cleveland, Tennessee, Mary (husband, William) Overton of Atlanta, Georgia and David (wife, Erin) Burke of Jacksonville, Florida; 14 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Harry Deon Bible of Atascadero, California and Dorice “Jerry” (wife, Ruth) Bible of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Alice Bogan; one son, Bernard “Jake” Burke; and two sisters, Anna Aline Halford and Betty Robinson.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home in New Berlin. Rev. Michael Skinner officiated, with burial following at St. Martin’s Cemetery in Farmersville.
