Mrs. Betty Lou Hopkins Harris, 76, of 12 Letcher Court, Martinsville, died Sunday at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. Born in Patrick County Nov. 16, 1902, she was the daughter of the late Josh and Rosie Shelton Hopkins. She was a member of the Church of God in Ridgeway. She is survived by her husband, James William Harris; six daughters; Mrs. Roscoe (Ethel) Jefferson, of Martinsville, Mrs. Christine Speizer of Little Falls, N.J., Mrs. Dorothy Kennedy of Newport News, Mrs. Shirley L. Rossi of Martinsville, Mrs. Andy (Sadie) Duncan of Rt. 1, Stoneville, N.C. and Mrs. Carolyn Funderburk of Martinsville; four sons; Billy T. Harris, Rev. Grady Harris, both of Ridgeway, Fred Harris and Maynard Harris, both of Martinsville, 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Donie Soloman of Ridgeway, Mrs. Cecil (Virginia) Boardwine of Bristol, Tenn., Mrs. Drewry (Edna) Thomas of Bristol, Va.; four brothers, Edd Hopkins of Martinsville, Benton Hopkins of Ridgeway, Melton Hopkins of High Point, N.C. and Fred Hopkins of Henderson, N.C. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stone Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. tonight and at other times at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Rossi at 25 Keel St., Martinsville.
