Juanita Herrill Emmerson
Private funeral services for Juanita Herrill Emmerson, 86, of Placerville will be held Tuesday, Jan. 14. Friends are invited to visitation at Memory Chapel, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13.
Mrs. Emmerson, a 60-year resident of El Dorado County, was a native of Iowa. She died Jan. 10 in her home. She started her teaching career in San Francisco and was the superintendent of schools in Placerville from 1947 to 1955. She was a member of the Fallen Leaf Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star; the American Legion Auxiliary, Post No. 119; the Californial Retired Teachers Association and the Epicopal Church of Our Saviour.
She is survived by her children, Zella V. Miller of Placerville, Vernon D. Emmerson of San Francisco, John O. Emmerson of Rowland Heights and Leigh G. Emmerson of Ramona. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at the Westwood Hills Memorial Park.
The family requests that remembrances be sent to the building fund of the Episocopal Church of Our Saviour or the charity of the doner's choice.
