"R. J. Fosbury Dead
Richard Julian Fosbury died at the family home in Stanards at two o'clock Friday morning, Oct. 3, 1913, aged 75 years. He had been a resident of Stanards for sixteen years. Deceased was born on Oct. 18, 1838, in Bainbridge, Chenango county, N. N., the son of James C. and Luena (Jones) Fosbury. His wife (Frances Collins Fosbury) died several months ago. Deceased is survived by three sons: Elmer E., of Baker City, Oregon; Arvis H., of Smethport, Pa.; and S. A. Fosbury of Stanards, also by two sisters and two brothers: Eber Fosbury of Lincoln, Neb.; Mrs. Louise Rarick of Iowa City; Orson Fosbury of Wisconsin and Martha Fosbury of Stanards. The deceased was brother-in-law to Mrs. L. H. Fortner and Mrs. R. Fish of Whitesville, and Mrs. W. H. Farnham of Spring Mills.
The funeral was held Sunday at 11 o'clock from the Methodist Episcopal church at Stanards, Rev. Manning officiating. Wellsville Sons of Veterans, and members from various Posts of G. A. R. were in attendance."
