Rex Rolland Richard 81, widower of Hazel Sauls Richard, died Thursday, June 17, 2010 in Beaufort Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 19, 2010 from 6-8pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 10:30am in Port Royal Baptist Church with burial in Beaufort National Cemetery with military honors and masonic rites.

Mr. Richard was born on January 27, 1929 in Williams County, Ohio. He is the son of the late John Richard and Elva Edwards Richard.

Mr. Richard was a member of the Port Royal Baptist Church where he served as a Honorary Deacon. He served our country in the U S Marine Corps and retired as a Captain from the U S Army Reserves, also retiring from Civil Service. He was Past Master of Harmony Lodge #22.

Surviving are two sons, Michael and Scott Richard both of Beaufort, SC; one daughter, Paula Padrick of Pembroke Pines, FL; one sister, Ruby Huber of New Port Richey, FL; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Hazel and two daughters, Connie and Donna McDermott. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Port Royal Baptist Church, P. O. Box 207, Port Royal, SC 29935. Anderson Funeral Home is serving the family.
