Jessie John "J J" Helms 33 of Big Point, MS. JJ was born on January 5,1978 in Pascagoula. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. He loved and cherished spending time with his daughter. He loved to hunt and fish. He had a passion for playing his guitar and he could play any song that came to him. JJ loved to spend time on the river with his dog Duke.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Leroy and Grace Helms.
He is survived by his daughter Allyson Kai Helms of Hurley, his mother Gloria Helms of Pascagoula, his father Jessie H. (Cheryl ) Helms of Big Point, his sister Gayla (Delvin) Redus of Moss Point, his grandparents Rev. Marvin and Syble Holyfield of Wade,and Nolly and Lavon Sward, of Hurley.He is also survived by his aunts and uncles Larry (Sylvia) Dees of Wade, John Holyfield of Wade, Ron (Wanda) Helms of Moss Point, Dorsie Byrd of Moss Point, Mitchell (Cyndi) Helms of Monroe, MI, Ricky (Mona) Sward of Hurley, Gene (Debbie) Sward of Big Point, Lora (Mark) Ost of McHenry, and Alan (Pam) Sward of Hurley.He will also missed by his nieces and best friends Savannah Harrell, Jenny Harrell, Bailey Clarke, Mike Hinton, Aaron Hinton, Scottie Vann, Shane Helms and many more friends, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Friday September 3,2011 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM from the funeral home chapel with Rev. John Holyfield and Rev Eugene Eubanks officiating. Burial will follow in the Sward cemetery in Hurley. Pallbearers will be Jessie Helms, Ron Helms, Mitchell Helms, Mike Hinton, Aaron Hinton and Scottie Vann. Honorary pallbearers will be Delvin Redus, Shawn McIlrath, Shane Helms and Scott Stork.
