CORNING, N.Y. — Edwin Albert Blough, 83, passed away July 12 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center.

Ed was born Feb. 5, 1928 in Warsaw, Ind., the son of Robert and Frankie (Stacker) Blough.

He married Marilyn Crooks in 1970 at Geneva.

Ed graduated from Goshen High School, Goshen, Ind., in 1945 and from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind., in 1949. He served in the United States Army from 1949 until 1953. Ed worked for GE until 1960 and then for Corning Incorporated from 1960 until his retirement in 1992.

He was an active member of the Grace United Methodist Church, was a Sunday school teacher, was involved with the vacation Bible school and held many leadership roles. Ed was also a board member for Steuben Alleghany BOCES, Bethany Village Board of Directors, Boy Scouts, the YMCA and was a volunteer for the LPGA for 31 years. He also participated in fast pitch softball, basketball and loved golf.

Along with his wife, Marilyn, Ed is survived by his sons, Eric (Linda) Blough of Dover, N.H., Mark (Maryellen) Blough of Fairfax, Va., Greg (Becky) Blough of Strongsville, Ohio and Jeff Blough of Portland, Ore.; grandchildren, Robert, Michael, Patrick, Christopher (Michelle), Marie, Jason, Katie (Daniel), Ben and Nicole; and great-grandchild, Alyssa.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Elizabeth Stockmaster and brother, Robert Blough.

Donations may be made in Ed's honor to the Grace United Methodist Church-Endowment Fund, 191 Bridge Street, Corning, NY 14830 or a charity of one's choice.

Calling hours were July 15 with a memorial service July 16. Burial was in Hope Cemetery, Corning.
