Bazaleel and his sons built the first woolen mill in what was then Montgomery County, New York, on the east side of Seneca Lake, at Hector Falls, township of Hector. The township of Hector was in five counties prior to the final county of Schuyler in 1854. Organizations of counties were: Montgomery 1772, Onondaga 1794, Cayuga 1799, Seneca 1804, Tompkins 1817 and finally Schuyler in 1854.

He emigrated with his family to western Wild in 1787 & settled in Tioga County, N.&. thence made a choice of this lot No. 69 in Hector, for his residence in preference to any other in the county & did many years before his death, made choice of this spot for interment of his family. Headstones have been erected in memory of two sons & one daughter of Samuel & Rebecca Seely who died in Benton, Ontario County.
