SURPRISE WEDDING
Young Couple at Herndon Secretly Married.
Mr. Charles W. Johnston and Miss Susan J. Sypert were married Tuesday night at Liberty Church near beverly, after services at the church had closed and the crowd dispersed the Ceremony was performed by Rev. Mr. Story with only two witnesses. The intentions of the young couple was to keep the wedding a secret for awhile but the news leaked out. The groom is a young merchant at Herndon and the bride is a daughter of the late Col. L. A. Sypert, and is also an accomplished music teacher.

Susan Jouett Sypert was the 2nd wife of Charles Washington Johnson Sr.

Rites at Pembroke
For Mrs. Johnston
Funeral services were held at Pembroke yesterday for Mrs. Susan Sypert Johnston, 75- year-old former resident of Hopkinsville and Pembroke, who died Saturday at Holdenville, Okla.
Mrs. Johnston lived for a number of years in Hopkinsville, making her home on East 23rd Street, but the family moved to Pembroke in 1923, and Mrs. Johnston taught in the school there for a time.
The body was brought to Pembroke over the week-end, and services were held Monday morning at the Christian Church there. Burial was at Pembroke's Rosedale Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Johnston of Pembroke, and Dr. L. A. S. Johnston of Holdenville; and two daughters, Mrs. H. C. Fisher of Seminole, Okla., and Mrs. O. F. Hoffer of Riverside, Calif.
