Roberta W. Spitler, age 89, of Eaton, OH, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, OH. She was born January 21, 1923 in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Hollie and Mildred Warner. She was a longtime member of the Grace Lutheran Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth E. Spitler, who passed away in August of 1986; and brothers James and Joseph Warner.

She is survived by her daughter Susan J. Spitler of Eaton, OH; son David L. (Clara) Spitler of Germantown, OH; grandson Douglas (Cindy) Spitler of Centerville, OH; great grandchildren Joseph and Sarah Spitler; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 P.M. on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Grace Lutheran Church, 111 Lutheran Drive, Eaton, OH with Rev. Warren Reichert officiating. A private graveside committal service will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria, OH. Visitation will be held prior to services on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. Memorial contributions may be sent to the church. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Kelly Cooper and the team from Gem City Home Health Care; Dr. Donald Corson, Miami Valley Hospital Emergency Room Resident Doctor; and Hospice of Dayton.
