Patrick H. O'Donnell, whose death Saturday afternoon at his home 902 West Seventh street, was briefly noted in the News of Saturday, was born March 4, 1849, in County Tipperary, Ireland. He emigrated to America fifty-two years ago and in 1877 ws united in matrimony to Mary Cooney of Michigan City. To this union were born one son, John O'Donnell and seven daughters: Mrs. D. V. Trahey, Mrs. Charles Kieffer, Mrs. R. E. Gabberty of Chicago, Misses Angela, Loretta and Lavina O'Donnell and Sister M. Patrice of the school sisters of the Order of Notre Dame, located at the Good Counsel Academy, Mankato, Minn.
The decedent was for forty years employed as a stationary engineer on the Michigan Central and always performed his duties in an efficient and orderly manner. He was a faithful and devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic church and his religious spirit enabled him to endure a long and lingering illness with remarkable fortitude and resignation.
The funeral will be held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning from St. Mary's church. Interment will be at Calvary. Friends may view the body at any time until the funeral hour.
