The death of Mrs. James M. Day this morning, ended the life of a woman who adorned society and was a benediction in her family. On the 14th inst. she was stricken with apoplexy, cerebral hemorrhage supervening, and from the moment of the attack until her life went out she remained unconscious. She leaves a husband, three daughters and two sons, whose bereavement human sympathy cannot assuage. Her age was 47 years. Mrs. Day was the daughter of the late Rev. Charles B. Davidson, a man who occupied an eminent position in the pulpit in point of ability and eloquence. Her mother was a woman of education and accomplishment, and one worthy to be the wife of a man of the high mental and social character of her husband. Mrs. Day inherited all the noble qualities of her father, all the graces and Christian virtues of her mother. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church and was distinguished for her faithfulness and enthusiasm in the work of the church. - New Albany Daily Ledger 17 Oct 1891
