He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Larry (Dorothy) Gillingham, Kathy (Ron) Byrum, Janice (Travis) Prewitt, Bill Gillingham, Thomas Roberts, Jim McKay, Dick McKay, Joyce Gillingham, Karen (Rick) Davis, Vicki Gebran, and Molly Shirley. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Margaret "Petty" (McKay) Gillingham, in 1998; brothers, Robert Carl Gillingham and Millard "Bill" Gillingman; and sister, Gertrude Roberts.
Mr. Gillingham worked installing school equipment in many Washington and North Idaho schools and Expo '74.
He enjoyed fishing with Peggy on Lake Pend Oreille and traveling in their little motor home to the West Coast, Arizona and Wisconsin for reunions. He also enjoyed working in his yard, gardening and his peach tree. He made Kathy can peaches every year.
He especially loved his years with Peg; he was dedicated to his family and was always willing to help out.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2007 from 2-8 p.m. at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, Wash. Funeral service will be held in his honor on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Thornhill Valley Chapel. Private interment at Pines Cemetery.
