Robert Al Hovden
CEDAR FALLS - Funeral services for Robert Alick Hovden, 62, of 2211 Washington St., Cedar Falls, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with Rev. Arnold B. Stilwell, pastor, officiating.
There will be services at Ridgeway in the Madison Lutheran Church at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in the Madison Lutheran Cemetery at Ridgeway.
Mr. Hovden died at 2:15 a.m. Monday at Santori Memorial Hospital of generalized carcinoma.
He was born Feb. 19, 1910, in Ridgeway, the son of Gilbert and Clara Holstad Hovden. He married Luella Workman in LaCrosse, Wis., April 27, 1946.
Mr. Hovden was a shipping clerk with the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works in Waterloo until July of this year. He had been a resident of Cedar Falls for the past 24 years. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, Luella at home; one son, Alex R. at home; one daughter, Mrs. David Albright of Iowa City; five sisters, Mrs. Stella Pappas of Rochester, Minn., Mrs. Eunice Wencel also of Rochester, Mrs. Lester Anderson of Austin, Minn., Mrs. Sy Thompson of Austin, Minn., and Mrs. Gordon Sherrard of St. Paul, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one infant daughter. Friends man call at the Nottger Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Tuesday.
