I didn't know Aunt Karmel well, but when I did see her she was very kind and generous.
I talked with her not long before she died, and I'm pretty sure she said her maiden name was Smith, and she might have said she was born in Wisconsin. She does have a married daughter from her first marriage. Karmel married my Uncle Curly. They lived in the Chicago area and later moved to Rio Rancho NM.
