1798:
Birthplace: SC (src: 1850 Laud. Co.,MS Census)
Growing up: TN

NOTE: A portion of Wayne County would become Covington Co. in 1819. A portion of Covington Co. would become Jones Co., in 1826.

NOTE: The "Richard McLemore" in the 1816 Wayne Co., MS census is likely not the same Richard McLemore, because the Richard McLemore in the 1816 Wayne Co., MS census appears to have children, while there is no record known to show that he was ever married before 1821 when he married Nancy Perry Hill.

1820:
Father: A male McLemore, the same age as Amos, along with a female, the same age as Amos's wife Equilla, was listed in the 1820 Perry County Census, along with children who correspond to the ages of non-adult children who Amos and Equilla would have had in their home at the time. Listed next to them was John Sellers who was married
to Amos and Equilla's 14-yr-old daughter, Sarah McLemore.

1821:
Richard McLemore marries Nancy Perry Hill in Perry CO, MS.

1823
Bainbridge Co., MS Census
Bainbridge County, MS was an area that would later come to be known as Covington Co., MS along with a portion that would later come to be known as Jones Co., MS.

Richard McLemore makes the first interment in the cemetery behind the 1st church built in Meridian, MS, which was built by him: Calvary Baptist Church. The church is no longer there, but the cemetery is still there and on the register of historic places. The woman he buried in the cemetery was said to be "a relation" named Mrs. Tyner, who he had brought with him to Meridian. Although his mother had remarried to a Tyner, it is possibly not her, b/c she was living with her daughter in Smith Co. when she was 98 years old. See Equilla Tiner. There has been no headstone found in McLemore cemetery or anywhere else for Equilla Tyner.
