Chester S. Malec, age 66, a 28-year resident of Winfield, died Thursday, March 6, 1997, at his home after a long battle with bone cancer.
He was born March 7, 1930, in Chicago.
Mr. Malec was an American Family Insurance agent in Winfield for more than 13 years.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Winfield.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; five children, Frank Malec, of Florida; Chester Malec Jr., of Florida; Jennifer (Mrs. Christopher) Arredondo, of Bartlett; Jill (Mrs. Ron) Gregory, of Wheaton; and Jayne Williams, of West Chicago; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Leonard (wife Isabel) Malec, of Florida and Franklin Park.
Visitation was held from 2-9 p.m. Monday, March 10, at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton.
Funeral Mass was Tuesday, March 11, at the St. John the Baptist Church in Winfield.
Interment followed at Assumption Cemetery in Winfield.
