James W. Myers, age 89 and a resident of Albuquerque since 1974, passed away on February 21, 2008. James was born in Bangs, Texas, he is the son of James H. Myers and Ella (Dolly) Baggs Myers, and was one of 14 children. James worked with the Youth Conservation Corps during the Depression and later volunteered for the Texas National Guard. James was a World War II veteran where he served in the United States Army and the Army Air Corps. After the War, he met Margie Cline and they were married in 1946. James retired from Los Alamos National Labs where he worked for over 20 years. James was preceded in death by his wife, Margie, in November of 2007 and by his granddaughter, Karla. James is survived by his children, William E. Myers and his wife, Barbara of Norman, OK, Carol Olson and her husband, Gilbert of Black Canyon City, AZ and Patricia Pyburn and her husband, Patrick of Rio Rancho, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services at 4310 Sara Rd and Meadowlark Lane in Rio Rancho. In keeping with his giving nature, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
