Elizabeth "Bette" A. (DeMaria) Aubain, of 13 Melvin Avenue, Shrewsbury, went home to the Lord on October 14, 2007. She was married to "Al" Aubain until his passing in October, 2002. She leaves her daughter, her grandson, her great-grandson, her 3 sisters, her brother, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her extended family, as well as her 2 sisters-in-law. She was predeceased by her sisters Antoinette Ramsey, Lucy Breault and her brothers Michael DeMaria and Joseph DeMaria all of Shrewsbury.

Born in Worcester on October 18, 1921, daughter of Marguerite (Lopriore) and Frank DeMaria, she attended Worcester schools and moved to Shrewsbury in her late teens and lived there until 2004 when she moved to Notre Dame du Lac Assisted Living in Worcester. She was married to her devoted husband, Adgenord (Al) Aubain on February 5, 1944 and remained the love of his life until his passing. Bette worked for many years in Worcester at GE Telechron then at DePierros Plastics, Shrewsbury schools and then ran the children's nursery at the Shrewsbury Tennis and Racket Club before retiring. She was a faithful member of St. Anne's Church, Shrewsbury. She was a member of the Frohsinn Club, the Women of the Moose and the American Legion Victor Quaranta Post women's group for many years. She loved being with her family. Over the years Bette loved to spend summer vacations at the beach with her family – and holiday gatherings and Sunday family barbeques were her favorites.

In her later years, she and her husband Al spent winters in Florida and summers at Cape Cod as well as at her second home in Moultonborough, NH. She really liked being with her family especially her grandson and his son. Her love for children was always present. Always a busy woman, she was an avid walker, a card player, loved music and dancing and working in her garden and yard. She liked to travel and finally got to London in 2002, a trip she looked forward to all her life.

Her last 3 years at Notre Dame du Lac were a joy to her as she was surrounded by lot of social activity, attended daily Mass, made many new friends and loved and was loved by all.

The family would like to acknowledge the medical staff at St. Vincent Hospital for their kindness and care and especially the VNA Hospice nurses and staff at Autumn Village Nursing Home for their tender and loving care of Mom through her final days.

Bette's life will be celebrated at a Funeral Mass of the Rite of Christian Burial at St. Anne's Church, Route 9, Shrewsbury, on Saturday, August 25 at 10:45 AM and all are welcome. Committal will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
