He was born March 7, 1947 in Steubenville, Ohio the son of the late James and Anna E. Hubacher Eddy.
Yogi attended the Empire United Methodist Church; was a member of the Toronto American Legion Post# 86, the Toronto V.F.W. Post# 6906 and recently the Wellsville V.F.W. Post# 5647 and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a lifetime member of all of the veteran's organizations.
He served his country for nine years in the Marine Corps and had served during the Vietnam War.
Yogi had worked at the Mountaineer Resorts and the Jefferson County Justice Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers – William, Eugene, Charles and Richard Eddy; sisters – Mary Eddy Dalton and Virginia Eddy Maples.
Yogi's survivors are his wife – Carolyn May Ghrist Eddy whom he married July 11, 1986; son – Steven Eugene Eddy and grandchildren Joshua and Bridgett Eddy all of Youngstown, Ohio; brother – John M. (Carole) Eddy of Steubenville, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Yogi will be 1-4 and 6-9 Tuesday March 27th at the Clarke Funeral Home – 302 Main St. - Toronto. 740-537-1234 or 1-855-847-1240.
Toronto American Legion Services will be held 8:30 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
A celebration service of Yogi's life will be held 12 P.M. (Noon) Wednesday March 28th at the funeral home with Reverend Al Talkington officiating. Burial will follow at the Island Creek Cemetery where there will be full military graveside honors by the Toronto American Legion.
