Samuel Joseph Dash, 28, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, died March 25, 2012 in Tulsa. He was born on September 24, 1983 in Atlanta, Georgia.

He spent most of his childhood in Bucyrus, Missouri, where he lived on a farm in the countryside with his mother, Patricia O'Farrell (Dash), his sister, Sarah Dash, and his brother, Joel Dash. He loved playing with his brother and sister in the outdoors. He was close to his grandparents who were like second parents to him. He loved nature, hunting, chopping wood, jumping on the trampoline, playing in the sandbox, gardening, shooting his bow and arrow, juggling, riding his unicycle, reading, and winning athletic competitions.

At an early age, he committed his life to the Lord and made the decision to follow Christ. Sam volunteered at nursing homes visiting the residents and playing violin for worship services. Sam's mother homeschooled him through the 9th grade. His family moved to Tulsa when he was 13. Then, Sam played sports through RHEMA Bible Church where he met his best friend, Nathan Neufeld. In the 10th grade, Sam attended Victory Christian Center in Tulsa, OK where he played basketball when VCC won state. When Sam transferred to Union High School, he played basketball on the Union High School team. He graduated from Union High School in 2002. After 9/11, he wanted to serve his country and followed in his grandfather's footsteps by joining the US Army where he proudly served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and the global war on terrorism. Sam was a highly decorated US Army war veteran. He achieved the rank of E5 sergeant.

Sam graduated from Northeastern State University in 2008. More recently, Sam also enjoyed working out, riding his motorcycle, polishing his Mustang, and reading Tolkien and other books. He enjoyed volunteering and helping other veterans.

After his first year of college, he met the love of his life and his future fiancé, Blaire Marshall, who he planned to marry in July of 2012. They have been together for 8 years. They own a dog, Lily, together.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Iris Pearl (Miles) O'Farrell on March 6, 2000, and his grandfather, Wilmer Richard O'Farrell on July 17, 2009.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia Jane O'Farrell, his sister, Sarah Ruth Dash, his brother, Joel Stephen Dash, his fiancé, Blaire Lenae Marshall, his uncle, John Michael O'Farrell, his aunt, Carmen Rosa O'Farrell, his aunt, Helen Margaret Robinson, and his cousins, John Richard O'Farrell, Kevin Daniel O'Farrell, and William Robinson O'Farrell.
