Genevieve Scarberry Skeen, 83, of Kenna passed away March 22, 2012, at her home following a long illness.
She was born November 1, 1928, in Belgrove, a daughter of the late Enoch and Chlora Fields Scarberry. She was a homemaker, and a cook for the Jackson County Board of Education. She was a member of Goshen Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband and sweetheart of 68 years, Vairl Skeen, and together they were known for helping anyone in their time of need.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Randy Skeen; and six sisters and five brothers.

She is survived by her children, Phyllis Kiser and her husband, Bubby, Charlene Harrison and her husband, Dorsel, Roger Skeen and his wife, Ailene, Frances Miller and her husband, J.D., and Connie Skeen; a daughter-in-law, Pam Skeen; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Elmer Miller and James Kiser officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery, Kentuck.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
