Mr. John Robert Stogner 78, of Rockingham passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Stogner was born September 16, 1927 in Richmond County a son of the late John Lewis and Sue Elizabeth Dabbs Stogner. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rockingham and served his country in the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife Betty White Stogner of the home, daughter LuAnn Stogner Wallace and husband Darrell, One Grandson Andrew John Douglas Wallace. Brother Bill Stogner and wife Frances of Ellerbe, Sister Dorothy Hodges and husband J.C. of Rockingham, One special Sister-In-Law Annie Grace Turnage, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

A Service to celebrate the life of John Stogner will be held Friday, March 17, 2005 at 3:00pm at Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with the Rev. T. David Phillips and Rev. Colin Shaw officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be private.
