Vern Hodgins

Charles Vernon Hodgins was born on March 25, 1922 in Arlington, Wa and passed away on September 21, 2010 in Puyallup after a short illness. Vern graduated from Sumner High School in 1941 and lived in Sumner most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII. He retired from Westinghouse Electric Company, after serving 33 years in the lighting division. He participated in many social activities. Vern was a lifetime member of the Puyallup Elks for 61 years, joined Linden Golf Club in 1951, and was a founding member of the Sumner Sportsman Club. He also enjoyed having breakfast at local establishments with his family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Wylma Blackadder, who passed away Dec. 15, 2007; his parents, George and Margarett, and his 6 older brothers and sisters.
