Professional Hockey Player. A native of Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, Mario played for teams in the National Hockey League (NHL), American Hockey League (AHL), Quebec Senior Hockey League (QSHL), S-SJHL, EOHL, QMHL, and the QSHL hockey leagues. Mario played for the Regina Abbotts from 1939 to 1940, Regina Rangers from 1940 to 1941, Hershey Bears from 1941 to 1942, 1945 to 1952, Cornwall Army from 1942 to 1944, Boston Bruins from 1941 to 1942, 1944 to 1945, Quebec Aces from 1952 to 1953, and the Cornwall Colts from 1953 to 1954. Mario also coached the Regina Patricias from 1956 to 1962 in the SJHL as Head Coach, Peterborough Petes from 1963 to 1965 in the OHA as Head Coach, and the Victoria Maple Leafs from 1965 to 1966 in the WHL as Head Coach. He later was a hockey scout for the St. Louis Blues and the Colorado Rockies. He passed away in Cornwall, Ontario, in June 1995, at the age of 74.
