Owain known as "the weak" was the son of Caradog ap Gruffudd, arglwydd of Caerllion and Gwenllian ferch Bleddyn.
He was entrusted with the defense of Caerfyrddin Castle in 1113, then held by the Normans, and was killed when an assault was made by Gruffudd ap Rhys
