F. Arvanette Dies Monday
Associated with Father and Brother for Many Years in Cafe Here
Floyd H. Arvanette, for many years associated with his father ans brother in the operation of the Arvanette Cafe at 100 North Hastings Avenue, died at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for a number of months.
Arvanette was born 52 years ago January 5 in Fond du Lac, Wis., and he resided in Denver for a time before coming to Hastings where his home has been at 422 West Twelfth.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge Nember 50 in Hastings and the Scottish Rite.
TERMINATED IN 1953
The Arvanette brothers , Floyd and William, sold their cafe and confectionery in late 1953, the business having been in the family under the same name since their father, the late John C. Arvanette, established it in 1905.
On his retirement in 1926 the two sons assumed management of the establishment. John C. Arvanette died last April 24.
Floyd Arvanette is survived by his wife, Edith,a son, Floyd Jr., and a daughter, Marylynne and his brother, William, all of Hastings.
RITES WEDNESDAY
The Very Rev. Winfield E. Post, dean of St. Mark's Pro-Cathedral, will have charge of the funeral services Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock un Livingston-Butler-Volland Chapel.
Burial will be in Parkview cemetery.
