Harriet Jewett was born July 10, 1820, the daughter of Dr. Thomas and Mrs. Rebecca (Green) Jewett. She married, April 26, 1845, Alonzo Bancroft, the son of Timothy and Matilda (Rand) Bancroft of Union, NY. Harriet and Alonzo resided in Boston, MA. They had two children, the first died same day. Harriet died, January 23, 1899, aged 78 years.
