Ruth A. Stoner, 74, of 1862 Buchanan Trail East, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, at Harrisburg (Pa.) General Hospital. Born April 29, 1928, in Worleytown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Allen Henry Wesley and Mary Ellen Hartman Burkett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Stoner, in 2001. They were married Oct. 26, 1946.

She attended Greencastle, Pa., schools. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Foursquare Gospel Church in Greencastle.

She is survived by two daughters, Leah R. Funk of Chambersburg, Pa. and Margaret C. Gossert of Columbia, Md.; four sons, Allen L. Stoner and William M. Stoner, both of Greencastle, Pa., Daniel W. Stoner of Shady Grove and Robert H. Stoner Jr. of Chambersburg; 19 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandson; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Carl R. Stoner and David L. Stoner; two half-brothers, Wilbur Hartman and Charles Barnhart; and one granddaughter.

Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Foursquare Gospel Church, Greencastle. Pastors Victor Miller and Walter Hock will officiate. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Foursquare Gospel Church, 236 Tyrone St., Greencastle, PA 17225; or to Franklin County Office on Aging, 218 N. Second St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
