PUTNAM, Marianne T., age 95 of Linden, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at her residence. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Fr. David Harvey celebrating. Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Friday from 1:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and at church Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until time of Mass. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home Friday at 7:00 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to the St. John G.I.F.T. Campaign.

Mrs. Putnam was born December 10, 1916 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Schiesel) Heritsch. She married Franklin Putnam October 26, 1940 in Milwaukee, WI and he preceded her in death June 5, 2003. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where she was past president of the Altar Society, chairman of the St. John Fall Festival in 1964, St. John bowling leauge and a member of the choir for many years; she also was vice president of the Flint Deanery Council of Catholic Women (1971-1972).

Surviving are 4 children; Michael Putnam of Linden, Anthony and wife Thu Putnam of San Jose, CA, Marianne Slaughter of Fenton and Stephen and wife Beth Putnam of Holly; 7 grandchildren, Yvonne (Travis) Miller of Linden, Lisa (Joe) Burt of Plainwell, Lowell (Cindi) George of Florida, Gayle (Ron) Herce of Illinois, George (April) Putnam of Arizona, Tristan and Aaron Putnam both of Grand Blanc; 13 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son Franklin P. Putnam, sister Elizabeth Heritsch and brothers Frank, Carl J. and Al Heritsch.
