Mary Lou Stufflebeam, 76, of rural Bloomfield, died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at her home.

Born July 31, 1927, in Danville, she was the daughter of Willie and Mary Wilhemina Niesen Kelley. On June 2, 1946, she married Richard D. Stufflebeam in Danville. He died Sept. 13, 1994.

Mrs. Stufflebeam farmed with her husband for several years south of Drakesville. She was a 1944 graduate of Danville High School.

She was a founding member of the West Grove Conservation Park from its beginning in 1964, serving as treasurer for several years, was clerk for Fox River Township for 13 years, chairwoman of the Davis County Area Agency on Aging, served on the advisory council for Seneca, and volunteered for the Lord's Cupboard.

She was a member of First Congregational Church of Danville and affiliated with the West Grove United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Hartwick of Bloomfield and Marsha Miller of Montrose, Colo.; adopted daughter Jutta Sutter of Epstein, Germany; two sons, Denny Lee Stufflebeam of Phoenix and Dick Stufflebeam of Sparks, Nev.; six grandchildren; four sisters, Wilma Kuhns and Wanda Magel, both of Danville, Ruth Soergel of Fairborn, Ohio, and Bonnie Clyman of Bloomfield, and two brothers, Dan Kelley of Danville and Marvin Kelley of Grinnell.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the Henkenius-Priester Funeral Home in Bloomfield, where the family will meet with friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Stufflebeam will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Henkenius-Priester Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Wakelin officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Memorials have been established for the Bloomfield Senior Citizen Center, Hospice and Friends of the Bloomfield Public Library.
