2012 — GAITHERSBURG — Mary Margaret "Marg" (Logsdon) Abendshein, of Gaithersburg, passed to eternal life on Friday, March 9, 2012. She was surrounded by her family and friends.

Marg was born in Cumberland, on May 3, 1946, to Wilbert and Adelaide (Keys) Logsdon who predeceased her.

She lived in Mount Savage and was educated at St. Patrick's Elementary School, Ursuline Academy, and Frostburg State College.

Marg is survived by her husband of 39 years, Harry (Mike) Abendshein; son, Michael Abendshein and daughter Becky Johnston (Chris); one brother, Ed Logsdon (Penny), of Sykesville; three sisters, Ann Fisher, of Derwood, Adelaide McCallum, of Frederick and Marian (Ralph) Somers, of Frederick. She has a host of nephews, nieces, their families, and many friends.

Marg taught school at Weller Road Elementary School and stopped teaching to raise her young children. When she returned to the workplace, she worked for twelve years with the Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity in Silver Spring, and just recently retired after almost seven years from The Christian Brothers Development Center in Beltsville, as their Assistant Development Director.

Marg donated her body to medical science. The family is planning a Memorial Mass and a celebration of her life at St. Rose of Lima Parish, 11701 Clopper Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20878 on March 31, 2012 at 11 a.m.

Following this liturgy, you are asked to join the family for a reception at St. Rose.
