Elaine Chandler age 88 of Nielsville, MN passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Halstad Living Center, Halstad, MN.
Elaine Chandler was born on June 19, 1923 in Climax, MN the daughter of Ole and Mabel (Amundson) Swenson. Elaine grew up and attended school in Climax, MN graduating with the Class of 1941. On January 6, 1946 she was united in marriage to Adrian "Bud" Chandler in Climax, MN. Bud and Elaine farmed their entire life in the Nielsville and Climax area. Elaine also worked at Hartz Grocery Store in Shelly, MN part time. She was an active community member through the Climax Lutheran Church, Shelly VFW Auxiliary and she volunteered at the Climax Library and Climax Public School. Elaine was known for her homemade bread, buns and rolls.
Elaine is survived by 2 daughters, Kay (Barry) Malme and Rae (James) Moore, both of Fargo, ND, 1 son Douglas (Karla) Chandler, of Nielsville, MN; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy Chandler, of Climax, MN, Nichelle (Jeff) Kluver of Dayton, MN, Justin (Kelly) Chandler, of Crookston, MN, Matthew Chandler, of Nielsville, MN, and Jodi (Anthony) Elkins of Maple Grove, MN; 11 great-grandchildren, Ava, Reed and Victoria Chandler, Nicholas and Jackson Kluver, Presley, Brady and Noah Chandler, Allison, Makayla and Kelsey Elkins along with many nieces and nephews.
Elaine is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Adrian "Bud" Chandler on February 7, 2003; brothers and sisters-in-law, Phillip (Phyllis) Swenson, Morton Swenson, Virgil "Sonny" (Eleanor) Swenson and 1 niece Janine Swenson.
Memorials Preferred to: Climax Lutheran Church, Halstad Living Center or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
