OCALA, Fla. — Doris Eileen (Johnston) Cherry, 95, of Ocala, Fla., formerly of Addison, Mich., died March 28, 2014. She was born in Jackson, Mich., on Jan. 14, 1919, the daughter of James and Audrey (Darling) Johnston.
Doris graduated from Addison High School in 1936. On Nov. 10, 1938, she married Robert S. Cherry and he preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1978. She was formerly employed by Addison Community Schools.
She is survived by her three children, Susan (Edward) Gray of Ocala, Fla., Stephen of Cartagena, Colombia, and Robert (Pamela) of Addison; grandchildren Alisa (John) Corfield, Susan Reese, Nancy Taylor, Dan Cherry, Maureen Cherry, Jill (Scott) Myers, Robert and Stephanie Cherry; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marilyn Griffith of Texas.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Vivian, and a grandson, Bill Cherry.
