Funeral services for John H. Cross, 63, were held Friday, January 18, at Trinity Lutheran church, with the Rev. W. A. Lemke officiating. Mr. Cross died Wednesday, January 16, following an illness of eight months duration. Interment will be made in Maple Lawn cemetery. Pallbearers were George LaRoche, Phil Fredrickson, William Moreau, George Cross, Fred Willing, and Charlie Chapman.
Mr. Cross was born March 4, 1888, at Decorah, Iowa, the son of William and Isabelle Cross. He was married February 25, 1910, in Faribault to Bertha Ahlman, who preceded him in death. He was again married August 25, 1948, to Elizabeth Cross of Rochester, who survives him. The deceased was a member of Trinity Lutheran church. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harry Spitzack (Ruth) and Mrs. Henry Waskoski; three sons, Harry, S. F., and Joseph Cross; six step-children, Mrs. W. M. Schock and Mrs. G. J. Suddendorf of Owatonna, Dr. J. C. Cross of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Rochester, William Cross of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Mrs. James Mackey of Faribault; 14 grandchildren; three brothers, Ed Cross, William Cross, and Charlie McNeil; and one sister, Mrs. William Minder, all of Faribault. He was preceded in death by one daughter and one son. Relatives and friends attending the service from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Gus Ahlman, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Ahlman, Mr. and Mrs. Art Ahlman, Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Ahlman, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Knauss, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Schmidtke, Mr. and Mrs. William Harris, W. B.
